Job Description:
GIX Logistics/Grand Island Express is looking for an experience individual that understands LTL trucking. They must be able to ship, tie, track and service customer LTL freight from each origin and pickup to each delivery and destination using qualified contracted carriers. Manage and maintain any accounts put under your care from a customer service perspective.
Initiate and grow a certified contracted LTL carrier network by staying current with ever changing market conditions as to allow us to be as competitive as we can with both the rate that we’re able to pay to our carriers as well as the rate we’re able to charge to our customers.
Duties:
- Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service - Cover customer freight in a timely manner using qualified carriers - Schedule, route, and complete order entry efficiently on all freight tendered - Knowledgeable of DOT requirements when scheduling and routing stops - Always be detail oriented, making sure to ask for and pass on all vital information regarding company needs, customer needs, load needs, and carrier needs - Work closely with sales regarding rates and freight needs - Be proficient on all programs that are needed to execute your day to day duties - Be open minded about freight opportunities and be willing to grow and think ‘outside the box’ - Complete all paperwork for management and accounting in an accurate timely manner on a per load / week / and monthly basis - Attend sales calls with customers and customer entertainment in a semi- sales role - Occasionally accompany members of the sales team on certain sales calls when they will be in contact with your customer accounts that you have contact with on a day to day basis
GIX Logistics/Grand Island Express is looking for an experienced Intermodal Freight Manager. They must be able to ship, tie, track and service customer Intermodal freight using key Intermodal service providers. Manage and maintain any accounts put under your care from a customer service perspective as well as managing the relationship with GIX’s Intermodal service providers.
- Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service - Cover customer freight by securing long term, consistent freight along with long term, consistent rates - Schedule and complete order entry efficiently on all freight tendered both in McLeod and on the Intermodal providers’ sites - Always be detail oriented, making sure to ask for and pass on all vital information regarding company needs, customer needs and load needs when dealing with our Intermodal providers - Work closely with sales regarding rates and potential upcoming Intermodal opportunities with their customers - Be proficient on all programs that are needed to execute your day to day duties - Be open minded about freight opportunities and be willing to grow and think ‘outside the box’ - Complete all paperwork for management and accounting in an accurate timely manner on a per load / week / and monthly basis - Educate customers on the differences between TL and Intermodal. Both the pros and cons. - Be involved in sales calls with customers and customer entertainment in a semi-sales role - Occasionally accompany members of the sales team on certain sales calls when they will be in contact with your customer accounts that you have contact with on a day to day basis
